This weekend brought a taste of fall weather to central Florida. Autumn has to be one of my favorite seasons — cooler temperatures, shorter days, changing leaves and great eats. Unfortunately, in Florida we don’t get many leaves changing colors but the slightly lower temperatures are a reminder that fall is here and Thanksgiving is coming. It’s also during this time of year when our family traditions tend to become more evident.
In our home I like to bake – bread, cookies, cakes…anything with carbs! One one of my traditional fall recipes is Pumpkin Cookies. We always had them growing up and now I have continued the tradition with my family by baking them in October and November. But, I have to admit nothing says Thanksgiving like turkey! I love turkey and just thinking about Thanksgiving has me craving a freshly roasted, hot and juicy bird with all the fixings. (Why is that we tend to limit our fresh roast turkey consumption until November? I know it’s available year round yet I don’t recall ever having cooked a turkey any other time of year.)

Well, with more than a month away until Thanksgiving I had to satisfy my urge for turkey. I thought about roasting one but didn’t have the time to cook my own. And once I got the craving for turkey I had to have it. I’d seen the ad for the new Grand Turkey Club at Arby’s® and decided to give it a try.

Boy, oh boy, what a great sandwich! Remember how I mentioned a hot, juicy roasted bird? This was it! This was my Thanksgiving satisfaction in October. I could have my turkey before or even after Thanksgiving. Leave it to Arby’s to “slice up freshness” with this turkey masterpiece. The sandwich is served hot on a toasted Harvest Wheat bun with fresh sliced turkey (sliced right there in the restaurant), melted Swiss cheese, pepper bacon, leaf lettuce, tomato and mayo. Mmmmm…take a look over here and see what I mean.
You know when it comes to fresh food you can’t beat Arby’s. Their roast beef is delicious. You’ve tried their Roast Beef Classic and now you can have a taste of the season with the Grand Turkey Club today. So what are you craving this fall?
