Latin flair is something we latinas have in spades. Come on, fellow mamacitas, you know what I’m talking about. Everything we do is laced with attitude! Maybe that’s why we’re always the life of the party and the kitchen! Latin flair is great on the dance floor, but my family loves my flair the most when they taste it in my recipes.
Latin Flair with Knorr
I love to experiment in the kitchen. Of course, I have all of my favorite latin recipes form back home in the Dominican Republic. I also love to take dishes from other countries and add some real mamacita flair to the mix! For example, Black Beans Cuban Style! Boom.
The U.S. is already a melting pot of traditions and heritages in each and ever dish. From pizza to clam chowder, everything here in the States has a uniquely American flair, no matter where the dish originated from. American dishes lend themselves absolutely perfectly to adding latin flair in one way or another. That’s what makes it so exciting to experiment in the kitchen!
My two favorite additions to anything I dream up in the kitchen are Knorr Caldo de Tomate Bouillon (Tomato Bouillon with Chicken flavor) and Knorr Caldo de Res Bouillon (Beef flavor Bouillon). Both of these help me add body to my latin inspired creations in the kitchen and give them a depth of flavor that they otherwise wouldn’t have.
Seriously Tasty Black Beans Cuban Style
1 Knorr cube
1.5 cups of black beans
3 cups of water
1 diced onion
2 diced garlic cloves
2 laurel leaves
1/2 teaspoon of oregano
1 chopped green pepper without seeds
Salt and pepper to taste
**Sautee the onion, garlic and green peppers until onion is translucent.
**Mix the beans, water, oregano, laurel, green pepper, garlic and onions and Knorr cube together in a pressure cooker for an hour.
Tip: try for the diced and chopped ingredients to be as small as you can.
Latin Flair isn’t Reserved for Latinos
Whether you’re on the dance floor, in the kitchen, or just chilling on the couch, it’s all just a state of mind.
