DuckTales reboot! That’s what’s making its way to Disney XD! It’s just another fun piece of info I got while I was at the D23 Expo. It’s such an exciting reboot for me. I remember the original with such fondness.
To celebrate the new animated comedy DuckTales, I had the opportunity to do something any lover of the series will recognize – jump into the McDuck Money Bin, but with the exception…. that I was freaking out! Once I took the plunge, it was alright! Getting OUT was a whole new story, luckily the Scrooge McDuck assistants were super helpful and pulled this Mamacita out! Take a look at my video and…..NO, I am NOT FLYING.
DuckTales reboot brings back tons of great memories! Now that my daughter is gone off to college, while I was in line to jump, random memories of her childhood pop into my head. And while a lot of memories involve all the studying she did when she was in school, an equally large amount involve her sitting in front of the TV to watch the original DuckTales. It was one of her favorite show. That’s why the DuckTales reboot is so sweet for me.
First Look at the New DuckTales
Although scheduled to premiere on August 12 on Disney XD, D23 Expo attendees got a chance to see the first episode of DuckTales with executive producer, Matt Youngberg and co-producer/story editor, Francisco Angones. It was perfect, both fans of the original and newcomers alike are going to love this show! For the newcomers, the artwork is on point. It has a great style that’s just so full of fun. Lovers of the original will also enjoy that although the reboot takes a fresh look at our old favorite, it still stays true to the heart and feels of the original. It was such a good show, and I know it’s going to be a breakout hit!
In addition to an advanced screening of the first episode, we also got the chance to take part in Q&A session with both Matt and Francisco. I’ll have the full Q&A up and live right here when we get a little bit closer to the DuckTales reboot release, so check back to learn even more about this amazing take on an old favorite. We also had the chance to see some of the stars of the show, as well. Ben Schwartz (Dewey Duck), Kate Micucci (Webby Vanderquack), Beck Bennett (Launchpad McQuack), and Toks Olagundoye (Mrs. Beakley) were all at the panel!
