Goals Rather Than Resolutions!
Can you believe we’re already finished the first month of the 2014? It’s so true what they say: “time truly does fly”! This has made me realize I need to rethink and revise a few things and set more goals for myself.
I prefer to use the word goals rather than “resolutions”. We seem to associate failure if we don’t meet our “resolutions“. On the other hand with goals, we can be more forgiving, trying to reach goals but it’s not failure if we at least try. Last year certainly brought lots of challenges to me both personally and professionally with my blogs. Some were good challenges that got motivated and other challenges were ones that took me by surprise and knocked the wind out of me!
Some of my goals for 2014 are to think about why those surprise challenges knocked the wind out of me; how can I better prepare to deal with the unexpected. Organization will play a big role. Taking care of ourselves helps be better prepared mentally, to deal with the unexpected, the good and the bad.
Need to rethink: am I being the healthiest possible both physically and mentally? If not then, I need to revise what I’m doing and try my best to be the healthiest me. Forgive myself when life just gets in the way and can’t always reach my goals, but not letting it get me down. Instead get back where I left off, get up and try again. To keep trying is a great thing, we can have bumps in the road……so keep going or stop and rest and start again!
Professionally, for my blogs I will continue to strive to make my readers HAPPY, find you the best money saving deals, and for me to keep growing and learning. This year I plan to attend a few conferences to learn and connect with my fellow bloggers, since it’s truly amazing to connect with your peers. For now they are BlogHer, Hispanicize. Type A Parent was on my list, but just got invited to one of my brother’s weddng during that time!
What goals if any do you have for 2014?
Want to get out more and go for more walks? Take baby out in the stroller and get fresh air for you both? Those were my favorites when my daughter was younger. We used to be taking baby out in the Britax stroller and just enjoying our time outside, walking, stopping for coffee, enjoying the scenery and more! Maybe you want to be more organized or travel more? The possibilities are endless and they can be small or big steps just remember bumps in the road are okay and in fact, sometimes they take you in more interesting direction! So let’s revise and rethink together and take a journey down a bumpy but interesting road.
