It’s Flu Vaccine Season! Get Flu Shot at Walgreens! #GiveAShot #cbias
Adult Immunizations – Easy to Forget… Don’t!
The colder weather months usually means cold, flu season and Flu Vaccine. As adults we tend to easily forget to get OUR flu shot, worrying about our family’s shots first. I know we all remember H1N1 and all the problems that came with that flu and the need to get immunized. However what about other years that aren’t considered as severe? Yet if you read the papers or watch the news, you will hear about people becoming so sick from the flu they have to be immunized or whole communities, schools and more being hit and the list goes on and on.
I’m very supportive of getting immunizations for my family. As we get older, adult immunization – a flu shot – is a must, providing longer healthy years with our families. Even though we live in a warmer climate we can’t escape the flu so we need to be have a preventative plan in place and be proactive. Not only do I think it’s important for us to get our immunizations, but at the Walgreens Clinics they make it so easy for us adults to get our flu vaccines! I visit the Walgreens clinic when my daughter is at school and make it a ME TIME, giving me ample time to discuss with the Pharmacist which flu vaccine is best for 50 year olds like myself. They are so friendly and easily provide information on the spot.
Thinking of Traveling?
Don’t forget though, that immunizations are not just for flu season. If you’re thinking of traveling anywhere outside the US, it is important to look into whether or not you need to have a travel immunization plan. Some people don’t realize that even some of the most popular vacation destinations – such as Jamaica, Mexico and more – that it is a precautionary measure to have certain vaccines ( Hpc Vaccine, HPV, Hepatitis vaccine, hepatitis, etc).
Wow! Receive a Vaccine, Give a Vaccine!
Not only does Walgreens offer almost all the immunizations you could think of for adults, but they have also partnered with the United Nations Foundation’s Shot at Life campaign. What is that you’re wondering? I’m happy to tell you that until October 14, 2013 for every person who receives a flu shot or any immunization at Walgreens, they’ll help supply a life saving vaccine to a child in a developing country.
I think it’s amazing that their doing this! We can support this campaign and good work too just by being proactive for our immunizations. We get our shots and they give a shot to a child in a developing country. This amazing campaign will provide up to three million vaccines for life threatening diseases, such as measles and polio. Vaccines we take for granted here in the US but are much needed in developing countries. That is something I can stand behind 100%!
We concentrate on our children’s vaccines, but as an adult, are YOUR immunizations up to date?
