My media trip to Branson, Missouri included a visit to a VERY unique place, the Titanic Museum! There’s nothing more fun than sharing a piece of history with your family. When you visit Branson, Missouri, you’ll be able to share a piece of Titanic history with your entire family. For those who don’t know, the Titanic was a huge ship that sank back in 1912 off of the coast of Newfoundland. Many were lost on that sad day, but a few survivors lived to tell the story. If you want to see the world’s largest museum attraction in Branson, Missouri then you must visit the Titanic Museum.
When you first arrive at the Titanic Museum, you’ll see a huge replica of the Titanic ship. Granted this isn’t as big as the original ship, but it will give you a feel for just how gigantic the Titanic truly was. You will receive a story of one passenger who was on the Titanic back in 1912 and enjoy reading their story while you find out if they survived or passed away with the sinking of the Titanic.
Self-Guided Tour of Titanic Museum
This large museum in Branson allows you for self-guided tours, so you can go at your own pace. Not feeling rushed through this historical remembrance of the Titanic felt good, because I could enjoy reading more about the passengers and historical events of that day if it peaked my interest. Not having to worry about any time constraints and traveling through the Titanic Museum in a self-guided way allows you to enjoy a full day within the walls of this beautiful location with your family.
Many Things to See
As you enter the Titanic Museum and purchase your tickets, remember to look up. Hanging from the ceiling you will find a replica of the wooden propellers that were on the actual Titanic back in 1912. In addition to these gigantic replica propellers, you can view the Titanic next to some of the current day’s ships to get a visual of just how large this ship was. One thing that surprised me was how small the quarters were for third-class passengers, I can imagine humans must have been smaller back then than today.
Some of the things that struck me with amazement were how fancy the quarters were for first class passengers. In current times, cruise ships are pretty extravagant for all passengers, so it’s amazing to see the china and size of the quarters for those who traveled on the Titanic in first class back in 1912. It’s quite impressive the amount of time that was placed to ensure first-class passengers enjoyed the luxury of their day to day life while aboard the Titanic.
Many Titanic Artifacts
For someone who loves history, this Titanic Museum is the perfect place to truly get a feel for what it was like back in 1912 when this gigantic ship first made its grand appearance. Within the museum you’ll find over 400 artifacts that are in fantastic condition, considering what they went through back in 1912 when the Titanic sunk. As you travel further into the Titanic Museum, you’ll come upon the children’s area.
The children’s area of the Titanic Museum is very heartbreaking and emotional. You’ll get to see the stories and photos of children who were aboard that ship in 1912. In addition, you’ll see stories of the children who survived that dreadful day, most of those that survived as children were in the first and second class areas of the Titanic.
Lastly, you’ll be able to view the amazing photographic skills of Father Browne who took photos of the passengers on the Titanic before it sailed off to sea. Father Browne survived that day, as he embarked off the Titanic in Ireland and his photographs are simply amazing. These photographs depict a happy class of people from 1912, excited to board this beautiful, gigantic ship to sail the sea for the first time.
